Hi everybody,
I'm new to the group and definitely looking forward to learning this new adventure. I don't own a kayak yet and don't want to go buying without even having the experience. I have been looking into rental details but still not sure what to rent or where to rent. I hope somebody could point me to the right direction. Looking forward to meeting you all. Thanks, Lem ![]() |

Hey Lem,
Welcome to the group, We are glad to have you and we will be here to help in anyway we can. As far as renting a boat & testing different boats out....Both of our sponsors Al& Sam's and Bel Haven would be a great place to start. Al& Sam's will actually do day & overnight rentals and you can demo any boat they have. At Bel Haven they demo boats all day during summer months. Both places are very friendly and willing to help. You can't go wrong with either place, or you could try them both ;) Where ever you decide to go make sure you tell them you are with the DVK! Hope this helps, Lauren |

Lem, Glad to help! Also make sure you call both outfitters before you make the drive. It is winter and their hours may be limited.
Good Luck, Lauren |

if you don't wind up finding your perfect boat by the time summer rolls around, we frequently loan out boats to the new paddlers so that they can try out a few before buying. bear in mind, however, that as the group has gotten bigger, it's first come, first serve (and it's much more fun to show off your new boat)! see you on the water!
