I have been kayaking for years and finally bought one of my own. Eager to get on out the water as much as possible.
Open to pretty much anything, although serious white water is not on my agenda at the moment. Rivers are my favorite, so I end up somewhere different from where I started.
Intermediate
I just bought a Dagger Axis 12.0 with a drop-down skeg. With the skeg up it is highly-responsive and quick to turn. With the skeg down, it tracks nicely and easily for point-to-point paddling.

Hi Ted, and welcome to the dining group! I think I met you at Heidi D's party a few years ago--we were talking about hiking. Was that you?
Ted, I am heading up to next Saturdays paddle from Philadelphia, would it make sense for us to car pool? I could meet you someplace, I live in South Philly about 5 minutes from I-95.
Welcome to the DVK, Ted!
