Hello, I am a kayakaholic. :D I like to paddle the Pines Barrens, Timber Creek, Newton Lake, Cooper River the Delaware and more. I am always up for some place new to explore. I am also certified in CPR & have completed the NJ Boaters Saftey course.
Flatwater, rivers, open water & some mild white water. I try to paddle year round.

Occasional weekends, some evenings after work, maybe during work, it all depends on the situation.
Everyone is friendly, this is a great group to paddle with. I always look forward to the next time I am able to attend a meet up.

Hi Tom,
I use a Garmin Nuvi 500. It's waterproof to something like 7 ft. and has a touchscreen & a user replaceable li-ion battery. Amazon has them. The GPS doesn't produce the maps. You need to download your track to another program. To produce the hybrid satallite / road map you refer to I used a bicycle log program called Ascent (mac Program). If you should get the Nuvi, tethering both parts of the swivel suction cup mount is advised. I've wacked mine with the paddle a few times.
