Introduction

I love canoing and thought I might like to get into Kayaking. I have made many over night cano trips and traversed class 3 rapids and falls on the Potomac. I like groups and would enjoy the fellowship of outings with a group of out doors people.

What types of water do you like to paddle? (flatwater, rivers, open water, whitewater, etc)

All of the above. I would like to try New Foundland, Alaska, some class 2 to 3 steams and rivers, and lake flat water. I love the sun and vigerous excercise.

What skill level are you? (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

I have made many over night cano trips and traversed class 3 rapids and falls on the Potomac. I also have experience in canoes on the Maurice, Shenandoah, Potomac, Mullica, and lakes.

Do you own your own boat(s), and if so what types?

I have access to a Kayak

When are you normally free to paddle?

I am retired and have as much as I need. Although, i do have some P-T work which I usually schedule myself.

The instructor was gracious, even though I got there 15 minutes late. I wanted to hang out and talk to a few of the DVK members, but every one scattered. I am hoping to meet more DVK members on future outings.
