I got a phone call from Jim at Bel Haven and he said they were a bit concerned about the speed and height of the river, as well as the likelihood of strainers after last weeks storms. He said Dave had been to the put in and the river is running high and fast. They ask that anyone not experienced or leary consider this trip carefully. Just passing on the info. Be ready for some good old lumber limbo on this one it sounds like.

Cathy, the manatee is fine for this river - in fact, the smaller boats do very well with the twisty curves!

What a great day! A really spring day for the first day of spring! Current was strong, but, that just kept a large group moving! The Tree Swallows were out, so were the turtles and millions of little bugs. After this winter, I could not have picked a better way to usher in spring.
    •  A fabulous trip. I love the Batsto, and we had the perfect day for it. The sun was out, we had an awesome turnout, and the water was high and fast without being dangerously so. First sunburn of the year, yay! :) Thanks again to everyone at BHP for a great day!

The Batsto was surprisingly not bad at all, with a reasonable water pace and less obstructions then some other river trips we have done. The weather was perfect too!
    •  I had a GREAT time today, met some more new friends.Thank you Bel Haven Paddlesports!!!Happy Birthday "BOY"!!!
