Okay folks, we're going to try this again! Unfortunately access to the put in at the Brandywine River Museum is STILL inaccessible, because that's where they pushed all the snow when they plowed. I went up to Shaw's Bridge and found the path to the river clear except for a little snow left at the end which will not be a problem. Arrival time is 10 AM to set up the shuttle. If you want to go on this paddle you need to be at Shaw's Bridge by 10am, so we can get things going for the shuttle and get on the water asap.
Although the Brandywine is an easy exit river, it is full and the current will still be strong. PFDS ARE REQUIRED, AS ARE COLD WATER GEAR. WET SUITS, DRY SUITS ARE MANDATORY AT THIS TIME. Even though things seem to be warming up the river is full of snow melt and REALLY cold. I know I stuck my hand in it today. BRRRRRRRR. There will be two portages necessary on this paddle, one at the Picnic Park and the other at the Wyeth Dam. Make sure you have good foot wear as well.
Skill level for this paddle is all levels, if you are properly outfitted.
