It's migration time! At this time of year, Parvin is home to tons of birds, both native species and exotics that are stopping over along their migration routes. It's a great chance to get out and spot a ton of birds you normally would not get a chance to see. Last year we had a great turnout of both birds and people. Our first bird of the day was a bald eagle who spent some time showing off for us.
This paddle will be led by Scott Edwards, our own Audubon Man! We'll be running two separate paddles that day. At 7am we will have a paddle for more serious birders who want a chance to see some of the more exotic species before they head out for the day on the rest of their migration.
At 11am we will have a more casual paddle that's more family oriented and will include a Birding Bingo game, with prizes for the winners!
Following the paddle, join us for our pot luck BBQ and relax with good friends.
Boat rentals are available from Al & Sam's Kayaks. Please contact them if you need to rent a boat. Binoculars are highly recommended for this paddle!
Camping is available at Parvin along the lake for any who wish to make a weekend of it.

****UPDATE 5-10****
Minor scheduling change so we can avoid conflict with a local fishing tournament:
7am Earlybird Paddle will remain as planned. Meet at Fisherman's Landing by 6:30 for launch at 7am sharp!
Pot Luck will be at 11:00 either at the main picnic area by the beach, or at the pavilion by Thundergust Lake. I will email when a final spot is chosen.
The casual Birding Bingo paddle will be AFTER the potluck around 12:30pm. Meet at Fisherman's Landing at 12:30 to get your Bingo boards and information, and we will launch shortly after.
If you have not signed up for the potluck yet, visit our message boards to do so. We had a GREAT spread last year! :)
