Last year we spent Black Friday avoiding the malls and paddling the Brandywine all day. We had such a good time, I think we should make it an annual event! Bear in mind with the shortness of the days, we will have to get an earlier start to do our Shaw's Bridge to Brandywine Creek State Park. So, let's meet at Shaw's Bridge at 10am, and we'll set up the shuttle and hopefully be on the water by 11!
This run of the Brandywine requires a minimum of 2 portages around dams, so be prepared to get your feet wet. Also, despite the moderate weather so far, the Brandywine is cold already, so, cold weather gear is strongly suggested.
This is a beginner's level paddle, but, as always, PFDs are required. The Brandywine can have some fun riffles in it, so this is a great way to put off holiday shopping one more day!

It's going to be a cold wet morning today, and many have already chosen not to come, so, we are OFFICIALLY POSTPONING THIS PADDLE. Some have already expressed interest in doing this Sunday, so I will post it there. Sorry for those who were looking forward to it (me too) The winds today will be sustained over 25mph and the radar has rain on it's way.
