Our September camping trip takes us to the scenic Delaware Water Gap. We'll be staying at the Dingman's Ferry Campground. We'll head up Friday the 18th after work, and kayak on Saturday and Sunday before heading home Sunday late afternoon.

Kayak rentals and livery service is available at the campground, so if you don't have your own boat there's no need to worry! The area also boasts some wonderful hiking trails, and there are many scenic waterfalls in the area. Don't forget your camera!

****UPDATE****

Paddling trip for Saturday will be a 3-4 hour run from Milford Beach back down to the campground. The campground will shuttle boats and people up to the launch site for $18/person and we will paddle back down to the campground. We plan to take the 10am trip. All attending must meet at the campground office NO LATER THAN 15 MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE (10am). Please be prompt as we cannot hold the shuttle. Pack a lunch, and we'll stop along the way to eat. Pot Luck dinner will be around 6pm Saturday night, all other meals are on your own.

I'll be bringing my trailer as well, so if we feel like making a downstream trip later Saturday, I can help out with shuttle. Sunday is up in the air - if we're feeling energetic we may paddle a bit more, but that depends on how we feel when we all wake up. :)

Boat rentals are available at the campsite for $38 per person.

I'll have my phone with me at all times (assuming I get signal) and I can be reached at [masked] during the weekend.

Just checked Bushkill Falls website - fabulous! $10/day. I have trail maps for everyone. The large trail to see all falls is about a 2-1/2 hour trail. The big fall is 100 ft. Very awesome!!!

Bringing hot chocolate. I do believe the weather calls for it. :) Also a suggestion for Sunday for anyone who is interested - Bushkill Falls is just 10 miles south of the campsite on the way home.

I'm also sharing site #111 with Carol. She mentioned the site is small, so if anyone else has a site for me to share with you, please still let me know. Otherwise, we'll just be cozy. Can't wait for the weekend!

Don, I have one wide cooking grate I will bring, and I can also yank the two squarish cooking grates out of my gas grill. Just might need a rock or a pole or something to support them (I will dig through my garage and see if I have any scrap gas pipe, which works well for this sort of thing). I also have 4 long skewers that are good for cooking marshmallows/hot dogs.

What they said... But my oh my, if the daytime weather wasn't just superb!!!! Wish we could've gone swimming, the water was sooooo clean!!
    •  We finally had NICE weather for camping! Rah! The nights were a little chilly, but the days were absolutely gorgeous. Had a beautiful run down the river on Saturday and watched a juvie Bald Eagle snag a fish out of the river and onto a rock nearby. The sun was shining as we paddled the rest of the journey back to the campground. Jason and I went to the visitor center in town to get some maps and info, and saw two black bears! Made it back in time for another fabulous pot-luck dinner. Sunday morning we slept in, packed up, and headed to Bushkill Falls for an afternoon of hiking. The falls were beautiful, and we had a nice tailgate lunch when we were done. This was a GREAT trip with even better friends! Thanks to all who came out!

A pleasant non-rainy, but cold at night, camping trip. Kayaking the Delaware was nice, as was the walk at Bushkill Falls on Sunday. Boy kept us warm with roaring campfires, as we stuffed ourselves with food at the pot-luck dinner, and other meals too. Overall a great trip!
    •  What a gorgeous weekend!!! The water and scenery beautiful! An eagle scooped up a fish too big to carry off, so he sat with it on a rock right in front of us. It was a wonderful weekend of camping, sky perfectly clear revealing so many stars, great food and campfires. Had fun with friends and met new people too. Yahoo!!!

Yet another wonderful camping/kayaking trip. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The company was excellent and the food was unending. Great job group. The Delaware was running a bit low and slow but made for a leisurely paddle on Saturday. Sunday we had a nice hike through Bushkill Falls and called it a weekend. Great job Meri.
