The Delaware Valley Kayakers are an enthusiastic group of paddlers encompassing all ages and skill levels. (And species! Keep an eye out for some of our kayaking dogs!) We love meeting new kayakers and encourage everyone to come out and join us for our events.
















For beginner paddlers and those new to the group, we recommend coming to one of our weekly Hump Day Paddles in the warmer weather. Every Wednesday we meet at a local lake or pond for an evening paddle and chat session. These are laid back, easy paddles on calm, flat water. It's a good time to meet current group members and to learn about kayaking if you are a newbie. We often have spare boats available for these paddles, so you can join us even if you do not have your own boat.

We also plan river trips ranging from easy floats down the Batsto to more challenging several day long camping and kayaking trips on the Delaware and others. For those people craving some excitement, we are looking into some whitewater trips this year in places like the Lehigh Gorge!

DVK has a lot of great activities in the works for 2009! We plan to schedule some sea kayaking events, more safety and skills practice days, and several camping and kayaking weekends. In colder weather, those with appropriate cold water gear are welcome to join us for our winter paddling events.

We welcome suggestions on places to paddle, so don't be shy about contacting any of the organizers or posting on the message board if there's somewhere you would love to paddle. Be sure to check our launch site directory for a list of great places to paddle. We're always adding on to it!
